Blizzard cleanup underway

Blizzard cleanup is underway on both shores of Lake Gogebic.

Many homeowners are reporting downed trees and limbs, with some seasonal properties showing impassible driveways as property owners are gone through Spring.

The winter storm, which produced 25-35 inches of snow over Thanksgiving across Gogebic and Ontonagon counties, left most homeowners on the East and West shores without power for 36 hours.

Excel published outage reports throughout the holiday, showing hundreds of residents without power. Crews worked throughout the holiday to get power fully restored as fast as possible.

Most homeowners found themselves enjoying their Thanksgiving turkey as late as Saturday, when power was fully restored.
